Why Yasmin Became an Advocate
Yasmin has always been drawn to problem-solving, with a deep interest in the laws and rules that govern society. But what drives her most is a strong desire to help people who have been wronged—particularly against powerful companies with more resources. For Yasmin, being an advocate means leveling the playing field.
Appellate law was a natural fit. She loves the academic side—the research, the writing, the deeper legal thinking. “It’s like piecing together a puzzle,” she explains. “I get to comb through a record and find ways the trial court erred, all toward one goal: winning for my client.”
What keeps her going after 15+ years? The opportunity to shape the law—sometimes in ways that help future clients—and the simple satisfaction of winning.
Outside the Office
Yasmin is a South Florida native who has lived here her whole life. She attended Highland Oaks Elementary, Highland Oaks Middle School, and North Miami Beach Senior High School—and some of her best friends today are people she’s known since elementary and middle school.
Yasmin is married to her wonderful husband, and together they have two children—a son and a daughter—along with a sweet and very playful yellow Labrador. When she’s not holding insurance companies accountable, Yasmin enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, traveling, hiking, being outdoors in nature, cooking, trying new restaurants, and playing puzzles and board games.
